VARICOSE VEINS

Varicose Veins Treatment

VENEX CATH and VENEX Sterile High Density / Viscosity Embolization Agent (N-BCA)

Varicose veins are enlarged, twisted veins that commonly appear in the legs due to weakened or damaged vein valves. These faulty valves cause blood to pool instead of flowing efficiently back to the heart, leading to visible bulging veins, leg heaviness, pain, swelling, or discomfort. While often considered a cosmetic concern, varicose veins can also affect circulation and quality of life. Modern medical treatments offer safe and effective options to relieve symptoms and improve both appearance and vascular health. The Incidence in the community is between 40-55%.

Indications and Procedural Overview

VENEXCATH is indicated for endovascular total occlusion of incompetent lower-extremity veins, including the Great Saphenous Vein (GSV), Small Saphenous Vein (SSV), and perforator veins, using a controlled polymerization-based embolization technique.

The procedure is performed without thermal energy, tumescent anesthesia, or general sedation. Under ultrasound guidance, the VENEXCATH braided microcatheter is introduced percutaneously at the knee level and advanced proximally toward the groin.

The embolization agent is delivered over approximately 5–10 minutes. Patients are typically ambulatory immediately post-procedure and discharged within 30 minutes.
